My seedbox is down or won't restart
Your seedbox shows Inactive in red, torrents stopped moving, or the dashboard says your seedbox isn't responding.
Most of the time the torrent engine on your seedbox has simply stopped and needs a restart — this is normal after heavy load or maintenance. A full storage drive is another common reason it won't start (a restart alone won't fix that — you'll need to free up space first). Less often, the whole server is under maintenance, or your account was recently moved between servers and the setup didn't finish — no restart fixes those two (and they're on us, not you).
Restart it yourself in a few clicks — no support ticket needed:
On your Home page (and on the Seedbox page) there's a status cell that reads Active with a green dot when everything's running, or Inactive in red when it's offline. Click the small refresh icon next to it to re-check.
If it's Inactive, click More info on that status cell — it takes you straight to Settings → Seedbox. You can also get there any time from your avatar menu (top-right) → Settings → Seedbox.
Scroll to the Restart section at the bottom of the Seedbox settings and click Restart. The row next to the button shows how many restarts you have left today (e.g. 39 / 40 daily restarts left).
After every restart, give it a minute or two to fully come back up — the engine needs a moment to load your torrents again (a very large library can take a few minutes). Don't keep hammering Restart during this window.
Return to Home or the Seedbox page and click the refresh icon on the status cell. When it flips back to a green Active, you're good — your torrents resume on their own.
Storage full? If your drive is full, the seedbox won't start no matter how many times you restart. Free up space by deleting finished downloads in My Drive, or add more room from the Upgrade screen — then restart. The storage bar in the sidebar shows how full you are.
You get a set number of restarts per day (the restart row shows how many are left), and the count resets once a day. On the Free plan your seedbox runs on a shared instance, so restarts aren't self-serve — the Restart control points you to upgrade instead, and an offline shared seedbox comes back on its own.
Still offline after restarting?
If a restart doesn't bring it back, it's likely a server-side issue on our end:
- Check your email — we notify affected users during maintenance windows.
- Give it 15–30 minutes; most maintenance completes quickly.
- Recently migrated? If your seedbox moved servers and never came back, say so in your message — migration hiccups need us to finish the setup on the new server.
- Still down after that? Contact support and mention your server name (shown in Settings → Seedbox as Server Name) — we'll take it from there.
