Add a torrent or magnet — and why it might be stuck

Updated 2026-07-16downloading

Adding a download takes seconds — here's every way to do it, and what to check when one won't move.

1
Paste a magnet or URL on Home

The fastest way: paste a magnet link, torrent URL, or file-host link into the Home box (Download mode) — you can add several at once, one per line — then click the send arrow (or press Cmd/Ctrl+Enter). SonicBit picks the right handler automatically.

2
Or upload a .torrent file

On the Seedbox page, click Add download, then the .torrent button in the dialog to attach a .torrent file from your device. You can choose which files inside the torrent to skip before it starts.

3
Watch it appear in your Drive

Files land in My Drive as they complete — stream them right there or send them to a connected cloud drive.

Right after adding, a torrent may show as inactive for 15–30 seconds while it connects to peers — that's normal. It starts on its own; no need to press anything.

Why is my torrent stuck at 0%?

The usual suspects, in order of likelihood:

  1. No seeders. A torrent with 0 seeders has nowhere to download from — check the seeder count where you found it. Old or niche torrents often die out.
  2. Still connecting. Give it a minute or two after adding, especially for large swarms.
  3. Dead tracker. If the tracker is gone and no peers are found via DHT, the torrent can't start. Try an alternative torrent of the same content.
  4. Seedbox needs a restart. If every torrent is frozen — not just one — restart your seedbox from the Seedbox page. See My seedbox is down or won't restart.
  5. Active-torrent limit reached. Plans cap how many torrents run at once, and a stuck task still occupies a slot. Delete the stuck torrent task — choosing the option that keeps the files in My Drive — to free the slot for the rest of your queue.

A torrent that stops right after finishing isn't stuck — on non-seeding tiers (Free, and one legacy paid tier) completed torrents stop by design. See Download speeds and seeding explained.

Storage full?

A torrent also pauses when your storage is full. Free up space in My Drive (delete finished downloads you've already moved) or upgrade for more room — the storage bar in the sidebar shows where you stand.
